Ndwedwe Local Municipality is a local municipality in KwaZulu-Natal, covering 1 079 square kilometres. It falls within the iLembe District Municipality. Its main centre is Ndwedwe.

Census 2022 counted 165 826 residents, making it the 30th most populous of the 54 municipalities in KwaZulu-Natal and 124th of 257 nationally. That works out to 153.7 people per square kilometre. Settlement is concentrated rather than scattered. There are 29 981 households, averaging 5.5 people each. 31.6% of residents are under 15 and 6.7% are over 65. Among residents aged 20 and over, 4.2% hold a higher education qualification and 16.5% have had no schooling.

The council has 37 seats across 6 parties, with ANC holding the largest share at 19 seats (51.4%). ANC governs the municipality. Mr Samuel Zwengithini Mfeka serves as executive mayor (ANC), and Mr Disco Sethenjwa Goodman Khuzwayo is municipal manager.
