Who reads it
- Residents looking up who governs their area, how to contact them, and how their municipality is performing.
- Journalists checking a figure before publishing.

- Businesses assessing the areas they operate in, or want to.
- Officials and councillors looking beyond their own municipality.
What the site covers
- 257 municipality profiles, one for every municipality in the country
- Nine province pages and a national financial health map
- A comparison tool covering finances, services and demographics
- Analysis articles, province guides and explainers
- An election section for the local government elections of 4 November 2026
How advertising works here
Advertising funds the work of collecting, checking and publishing this data. We keep it separate from the content:
- Advertisements are clearly distinguishable from editorial content.
- No advertiser has any influence over the data, the financial health grade, the rankings, or anything written on this site.
- We do not accept advertising that is presented so as to look like our own reporting.
- We do not pass information from the contact form to advertisers.
That separation is not a courtesy. The site’s value rests entirely on readers trusting the figures, and that would not survive advertisers being able to influence them.
Enquiries
Use the contact form and select “Advertising enquiry”, or email [email protected]. Please include what you would like to advertise, the audience you are trying to reach, and your timeframe.
What we will not carry
We do not accept advertising for anything unlawful, anything that misrepresents an association with a municipality or with government, political advertising that could imply this site endorses a party or candidate, or anything that would mislead a reader about the independence of the data.
