Pixley Ka Seme District Municipality is a district municipality in Northern Cape, covering 103 222 square kilometres. It coordinates 8 local municipalities: Emthanjeni, Kareeberg, Renosterberg, Siyancuma, Siyathemba, Thembelihle, Ubuntu and Umsobomvu. It takes in 26 recognised towns and settlements, among them Britstown, Campbell, Carnarvon, Colesberg, Copperton, De Aar, Douglas, Griekwastad.
Census 2022 counted 216 589 residents, making it the 5th most populous of the 31 municipalities in Northern Cape and 106th of 257 nationally. That works out to 2.1 people per square kilometre. The population is very sparsely distributed across a large area. There are 53 737 households, averaging 4.0 people each. 28.6% of residents are under 15 and 6.7% are over 65.
